Our final AiR of 2017, following those who participated in the Bulgasari Aotearoa – 불가사리 project, is Auckland artist/musician, Daisy Wells.

During her time in situ, Daisy will further explore the nascent relationships existing between improvised sonic performance and the practice of painting, presenting performances on Friday 8 and Friday 22 December. For three weeks from Monday 4 December, Daisy will be working at the Audio Foundation, producing work and sculpting her set.

Daisy holds a BFA(hons) from Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland where her research draw methodological parallels between two seemingly disparate modes of creative expression – improvised sonic performance and abstract painting. Since graduating Daisy has performed regularly as Petrichor, supporting Puce Mary during her Wellington show in 2016. More recently, Wells has taken to performing alongside Grace Verweij in their industrial soundscape duo, lskse_, and solo as Ligeia.
