Mein Bruder Karin is an electronic-group from Brussels and Düsseldorf, founded by Volkmar Mühleis and Lutz Boddenberg. They mix the tradition of German songwriting and sound experimentation. Boddenberg writes and produces the music, he has collaborated with the drummer/composer of Kraftwerk, Wolfgang Flür, the Australian singer Julia Messanger and others. Mühleis writes and performs the lyrics. Together they published two album’s, dunkel and Wir waren so lang nicht zusammen.

Volkmar Mühleis is Senior Lecturer for Art Philosophy at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. He has published studies on art and blindness, the relation of art philosophy and artistic practice and the aesthetic thinking of Jacques Rancière. He will be discussing “What we can learn from Jacques Rancière on fine arts – and what we can not” as part of the Easy Listening series on Tuesday September 16, 6pm at the Auckland Art Gallery Auditorium.
