Over six days artist Ivan Lupi will attempt one hundred thousand strikes upon the triangles which comprise his installation, Not As Simple As It Sounds, each ringing a gesture of remembrance dedicated to the estimated 100000 homosexuals arrested, abused and killed during the Holocaust.
In this 2 hour workshop, branching from Ivan’s main performance at the Audio Foundation, participants will gain insight into the durational performance practice adopted by the artist. On top of illustrating the topics of his latest work, Ivan will guide each individual through a unique experience exploring body potentials and limitations leading up to a collective performance which will address discrimination against minorities.
