i.e. crazy, Bib Kids, Ex-Partner, Ron Gallipoli – 24/11/2018

af web

A show celebrating nothing but the organiser’s ability to curate an absolute “pearler” of an entirely Auckland-based lineup. Locals rule!

i.e. crazy (Non Compos Mentis; Muzai Records, 2017) explores the boundaries of civilised behaviour/sanity through exploratory modes of aural collage and electric folk narratives. Mimicking the much-feared (albeit fictional) wandering womb, i.e. crazy is unashamedly emotional, overwrought; blindly roaming to painful impact. Cracked, hysteric, needy, non compos mentis.

Bib Kids is the illegal marriage of interdisciplinary art brats Tash Van Shaardenburg and Mikey Sperring. Their music is punk and electronic, innocent and aggressive, playful and sharp. A tense dance shared between contradictions.

Ex-Partner: the solo electronic project of Anthony Drent, member of Civil Union, Executive Zone and Diana Tribute. It is dark disco and/or techno formed via the synthesis of external hardware, arpeggiated sequences and highly questionable poetry.

Ron Gallipoli is a trendy fool.
