Audio Foundation is excited to bring to you, all the way from the bowels of the nation, Horse Dr., Nick Graham, and Spacecake with local support provided by Auckland’s own Totems.
Horse Dr. is a doctor / musician/composer whose work encompasses a variety of both traditional and modern approaches to writing and performance. Horse Dr. seeks to destabilise musical norms by playing upon and subverting genre idioms.
Nick Graham creates drone and noise with his homemade synth and circuit bent electronics. Vacillating between static space and swelling mixer belches, Graham’s largely improvised tweakings often coalesce into entrancing rhythmic figures.
Spacecake will launch your consciousness into orbit with their lo-fi, witchy casio hymnals.
Producer and performer Totems’ field of focus extends from beat music both warped and hazy, to jungle addled footwork, to mists of analog ambience enlivened by impressionistic tones.
