In association with his exhibition, ‘A world of gourds, a world of sound’, Liam Bowen invites those curious to delve deeper into the musical history of these wondrous fruits.

From 2pm on Saturday 6 October, Liam will introduce attendees to the basics of gourd growing with a focus on how to achieve the thick shells required for instrument building. Attendees will be given a gourd seedling to take home. Additionally, an array of Liam’s instruments will be demonstrated upon.
