In association with the exhibition, Call Back Your Dogs, Audio Foundation is very happy to announce a concert for acclaimed musician and visual artist, Michael Morley.
Michael Morley is an experimental musician and visual artist from New Zealand, best known for his vocal, guitar and electronic work with noise trio, The Dead C. Under the Gate moniker, Morley has explored territories ranging from beat driven discotheque electronics and long-form acoustic pieces to nuanced atmospheres. For this performance, Michael will be joined by special guest, Liz Harris (Grouper).
Thistle Group is the solo project of Claire Mahoney. Freshly returned following a European jaunt with Pumice, Thistle Group assembles rumbling analog tape loops that snake around multiple axes, augmented with occasional drums and voice. “It’s as beautiful as it is primordial and as it is mysterious, but the beauty in these pieces really shines through after each encounter”, writes Soft Abuse.
Astrolabe is the ambient electronic project of Sam Longmore and James Sullivan. Their infrequent live performances hinge on processed field recordings and live electronics, supplemented by soft chords. Music as meditation, lulling listeners while journeying toward ecstatic, psychedelic peaks.
