Following a decade making music and studying in Tāmaki-Makaurau, Ex-Partner has published his first collection of poems.
Written over 2020, Rainbow Party / Media Poison is an intimate, dream-like traipse through power politics, childhood, nostalgia, mental illness and survival.
The book comes with an ambient CD soundtrack which spans from monastic vaporwave to pagan, A24 trailer territory.
For fans of David Berman, James Tate, Stevie Smith, Coil, Oneohtrix Point Never.
This is not a poetry reading.
It will be a night of lols and weird “dance” music with the option of leaving with a book that has a CD inside of it.

Also performing will be some friends …
– Ron Gallipoli
As the acerbic frontman of post-punk outfit Sharpie Crows and now under the alias of Ron Gallipoli, Sam Bradford has directed his misanthropic musings at targets as diverse as Fonterra and the New Zealand Herald. Live, Ron is equal parts contemptuous and engrossing, as evidenced by his incendiary rendition of Lorde’s hit ‘Green Light’ at the 2017 Silver Scroll Awards.
– Kimmy
Kimmy is the experimental techno project of Catherine Ellis and sometimes Alex Guthrie. Ellis creates what they describe as “dark, electronic workout music”.
– No Accident
A veteran ambient, electronic noise creator in bands such as The Plough That Broke the Plains and currently, Horror in Clay, George Aitken is resurrecting his electronic moniker to bring his accident friendly techno to Auckland for the first time.
