Artists Eleanor Cooper and Xin Cheng have been ambling around Pupuke Moana (Lake Pupuke) and Te Auaunga (Oakley Creek) over the past few seasons, exploring tales of inter-species kinship and mutualisms, reaching out to locals and listening to the more-than-human in suburban Tāmaki-makau-rau.
For Audio Foundation AFM, a two-piece audio work will be broadcast on Tuesday 15 June and Tuesday 22 June. Weaving together the sonic textures of our suburban waterways, the works also share stories told by local poets, community conservation volunteers and scientists.
The broadcasts accompany the exhibition ‘They covered the house in stories’, curated by Amy Weng at Te Tuhi Gallery, 29 May – 22 August 2021.
