Witness the fourth of five moments on August 29 at Audio Foundation.
Once again informed by sculptural notation, two clarinets will be played by Lukas Fritsch and Callum Passells at 6.30pm as part of J.A. Kennedy’s performance and exhibition project titled, A place to play a clarinet. Fritsch and Callum, will be accompanied a recording of the first performance by Jeff Henderson and Sean Martin-Buss made on August 14(7) 2022 at Governor Brick Pumphouse —a green box– located at 1A Tuarangi Road, Grey Lynn, Tāmaki Makaurau.
The second (Sean Martin-Buss + Ben Sinclair, November 2 2023) and third (Ben Sinclair + Lukas Fritsch, on November 18 2023) moments occurred during J.A. Kennedy’s exhibition, held at Audio Foundation (November 2 – December 2 2023). Prompted by the first recording and sculptural notation constructed/arranged by Kennedy, players sat and played in an attempt to move forward while considering the collective relation to Henderson and Martin-Buss and their August 14(7), 2022 performance.
The date and time of the fifth moment are to be confirmed, but will take place outside 1A Tuarangi Road, Grey Lynn, with each player present.
