Please join us to celebrate the first event of the 2018 gallery programme: ‘Now is not the time.’, a new exhibition by Australian interdisciplinary artist, Todd Anderson-Kunert.
If there is a ‘wrong’ time, then it seems to imply there is a ‘right’ time. From my experience, there are far more wrong times than right times, and so if I took this logic many of the things that I’d like to do, or say, would be lost waiting for an appropriate moment that may never eventuate.
Now I just try to do them. Or say them. Sometimes you need to go through the wrong time in order to get to the right time.
‘Now is not the time.’ is part audiovisual installation, and part release. The release will be given away at a specific point during the opening, and as a consequence the installation will change.
Based in Melbourne, Anderson-Kunert works across installation, performance, and the release of musical media, operating in the threshold between hearing and feeling. Conceptually, his practice is motivated by feelings (be they real or implied), psychological tensions, and spatiotemporal specificity.
Opens – Thursday 8 February, 5.30pm (w. refreshments from Liberty Breweries)
Hours – Tuesday – Saturday, 12.00pm – 4.00pm.
Closes – Saturday 3 March 4.00pm.
