The final exhibition in the 2019 Audio Foundation Gallery programme features new work by Audio Foundation director Jeff Henderson.
The Strap features new instruments and musical games utilising leather belt offcuts salvaged from the Parisian Tie and Belt Factory and referencing Aotearoa’s history of corporal punishment – the artist being one of the last generation to be schooled in environments of State sanctioned institutional violence.
Additional works include interactive sound installations from found materials and new graphic scores for performance.
