Joint exhibition by artist / musicians Fraser Austin and Chris Cudby. Post-physical artifacts of digital music practice – sculpture, paintings, interactive video works, and more.
Fraser Austin is a bedroom-musician and proprietor of net-pop kiwi record label Crystal Magic. His musical ambition and spin off artistic practice is an exercise in digital-narcissism, utilising the laziest hacks to emulate success through low expectations and uncanny virtual facsimiles. He performs and records solo as Feelings and Secrets, and was one-half of legendary synth-pop duo Frase & Bri.
Chris Cudby is an Auckland based artist / musician, exhibiting both solo and collaboratively as one half of Golden Axe, and performing and recording solo as Power Nap. Recent highlights include a Wellington City Gallery performance (with GA), sound collaborations with PBPR (Auckland Art Fair, Ferari Gallery), and curating the Burn The Beat and WAV group exhibitions for the Audio Foundation gallery. He graduated with an MFA from Elam School Of Fine Arts in 2009.
The opening will be followed by a performance by the artists (Feelings and Power Nap) at the Golden Dawn from 8pm (free entry).
