AUCKLAND to LONDON Long Distance Simultaneous Music Event : Two Scratch Orchestras in synchronised performance
(A Scratch Orchestra 50-year anniversary, celebration event)
OPEN CALL for the Auckland to London Long distance Music Event:
Free improvisers of experimental music, sound and related media are invited to participate in a simultaneous synchronised performance of two scratch orchestras, London and Auckland, 8.30AM on Friday morning November 1st at Audio Foundation, Poynton Tce. Ak Central.
Scratch Orchestra was defined by Cornelius Cardew in 1969, as a large number of enthusiasts pooling their resources and assembling for action – music making, performance and pleasure. Note the word music and it’s derivatives are not understood here to refer exclusively to sound and related phenomena (hearing etc). What they do refer to is flexible and depends entirely on the members of the scratch orchestra.
Interested enthusiasts, please confirm your participation by email to admin@audiofoundation.org.nz
Event instructions will be provided, pronto by return, coffee and croissant provided.
Friday 1 November @ Audio Foundation
From 8.30am
