Presented as part of the EEEOW! Festival, this workshop will provide an introduction to creating your own custom musical device to run on a smart phone or tablet.
Using Pure Data (Pd) as the sound engine and MobMuPlat as the host app, participants will learn how to generate sounds from a simple, non-code based patching environment and make them interact with a touchscreen graphic user interface (GUI).
Open to experienced PD users and novices alike. Participants are welcome to bring their own Pd creations. There will also be an assortment of ready-patched ‘building blocks’ provided for beginners to jump right in.
