Clinton Watkins
Clinton Watkins explores affect through immersive combinations of sound, colour, and scale. For over 30 years, his practice has examined the structures, phenomena, and perceptual processing of sonic and visual material. Working with custom-made audio-visual hardware, Watkins creates installations grounded in minimalism that employ repetition, distortion, duration, and form.

He has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Asia, and the United States, and is represented by Starkwhite Gallery, Auckland. Watkins is also an experimental musician who regularly performs and produces work both solo and collaboratively. He works as the sound designer and composer for the artist collective Field Recordings, and in 2018, he participated in the Sonic Mmabolela sound composers residency directed by Francisco López.

Watkins holds a Doctorate from Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland, and is an Associate Professor at Auckland University of Technology, where he specialises in sound and installation practices.

Ducklingmonster
“Ducklingmonster is the surfacing squall from a hive of low-lying electronics. Beats, lights, yelps, samples”

Rachel Shearer – highly detailed deep listening music.
Rachel’s practise explores the materiality of sound through Māori and Western ontologies, epistemologies, and technologies. These are considered through various creative sonic practices: installations, composing, recording, writing, and collaborating as a sound designer and/or composer for moving images and live performance events
