We are very pleased to present an Auckland concert by Jérôme Noetinger (FR.), one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music.
Noetinger is celebrated internationally, both as an improvisor and composer of electro-acoustic music and for his work as director of the label and distribution company Metamkine, which he founded in 1987 with French cinematographer/performer Christophe Auger and Xavier Quérel. Since 1993, Noetinger has collaborated with longtime partner Lionel Marchetti and violinist Mathieu Werchowski. He has performed with Nachtluft, Voice Crack, Tom Cora, Anthony Pateras, Will Guthrie, Keith Rowe, and avant-improv orchestra MIMEO. Live, Noetinger’ s performances often possess a sculptural quality, revolving around a grouping of tape machines, mixers, analogue synthesizers, effects-units, microphone and contact speakers.
For this special event, Noetinger will be supported by Auckland electronic-artist, Rachel Shearer, who translates analogies of form and pattern that exist between diverse realms into electro-acoustic sound productions.
Friday 18 February @ Audio Foundation, doors open 8.00pm.
