Two fiercely independent voices of New Zealand creative music join forces for the first time in a one-off show in Auckland. No one knows what to expect when fire meets ice or when Crayford’s tinkling of the ivories is interspersed with the soft harmonic foam of Chisholm’s alto but something will be cooking in the sound kitchen to make this evening something special.

Hayden Chisholm hails from Taranaki but has spent decades in Europe honing his craft and climbing the jazz ladder up to the open sky. In 2021 he opened his own Jazz club in Belgrade Serbia- BAM club- which has since become the most important live music venue in the region- a kind of Audio Foundation of the Balkans so to speak.

Jonathan Crayford needs no introduction to Auckland audiences with a breathtakingly diverse career of performing, composing and arranging. Acclaimed as a highly original compositional talent, Crayford has been responsible for many film soundtracks, albums, and bands.
