Dean Hapeta aka Te Kupu, Upper Hutt Posse, has been a key collaborator on the project, recording all the vox, sax and extra sounds as well as contributing his own vox and text. Lyrical collaborations with Wellington poet Maria McMillan have also been woven into one of the songs. > > The album is presented with TWO books of unique artworks to add to the dialogue of the 11 songs in a lush gatefold card case. > > The gathering of the 11 images for the eleven tracks has been a momentous effort. Eight of the works have been commissioned specifically for Transit. The artists, Andrew Ross, Deborah Barton, James Robinson, Campbell Kneale, Stefan Neville, Kerry-Ann Lee, Jeff Henderson, and Garage Collective, responded as they desired, creating a powerful collection to accompany the songs. Two works are from artists Tao Wells and Roger Morris, who have gifted established works to be tagged to the songs. The eleventh art work adorns the song STELLA and is a very special Wayang puppet received as a gifted when the Assembly played in Java on their south east Asia tour in 2007. > > The melee has been mixed and mastered by the fine hands of Mike Gibson and the sound is fat, rich, and challenging. Message-ID: <6B7881B4-DB58-4906-85BF-CDD4C526549E@audiofoundation.org.nz> Hi All Exciting news! We have just signed a years lease on the North side of the bottom floor of the Parisian Tie Factory in Poynton Tce. It overlooks Myers Park and is totally choice! It's a big area with lots of possibilities and we hope for it to be open to the wider arts community as well as the AF community as there's certainly enough room for this. There will be a venue and gallery, an office with the MP3 ( and soon to be audiovisual) Library, AF CD Shop and we are looking at having workshops, salons, exhibitions, events, lectures, symposia, festivals and film evenings as well as any other suggestions that come our way. The venue space will fit around 80 peeps but because of the flats across the park, we are looking at events that finish at 10 pm or day shows. We will be in there from April 18th painting and cleaning the place and getting it ready and any volunteers for this would be greatly welcome : ) We are also looking for help with any of the following items on our wish-list for the space if anyone has stuff they don't need anymore. We can come to you with a trailer! Sofas Chairs for events Carpets, rugs and mats Big and small cushions Book shelves Desks Computers for internet and MP3 Library Small Fridge CD racks Ping pong table Trestle tables Electric jug Let me know off-list if you can help out with anything or have CDs to put in the shop. We sold a good amount the other night at the AF listening Lounge (that we have been asked to come back and do every month) Launch will be early May and we will have more news soon about how we are celebrating!! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... He has also had time to think more generally and philosophically about the idea of hunting, and so tonight will present these ideas to you. This is an interesting opportunity to discover something about the inspiration behind his music. > > > > > > Friday 1st 8pm $5 > > The Satanic Rockers (Melbourne) > The Kickoffs > The Phobic Trust > > Dave and Lynton of Heavy Turkey and Public Toilet Ltd fame are back from Australia for a brief time and a touring their new band, The Satanic Rockers. > > > Also around Wellington this week > Tuesday 29th - Dead Ringers at Happy, 8pm. > Friday 1st - Leila Adu at Happy, 9pm. > Saturday 2nd - Orchestra of Spheres and others @ Garrett St, above People's coffee, 9pm. > > > Next week's Monday Night School presentation will be given by Gerard Crewdson and is entitled 'Riverun'. > Thanks to the Wellington Creative Communities for their support of the Night School. > > > Also, a reminder to those that are interested in performing at Fred's, get in touch!! > > > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It's in very good condition, the only glitch is that one of the LCD buld is kaputt on the display, can make it a little challenging telling the difference between 6 & 8 but that's the only problem. I tried to sell on trademe but it wouldn't let me cos I brought it from the UK and it still has a UK power adapter , but I've been running it fine with a converter plug. You could prob do some research and find the right adapter here. Its similar to the Red boss loop pedal, the only function it doesn't have is the ability to reverse the loop. It also has a 2gb card in it with alows up to 6 hours of stored recorded time. A USB connection so you can load up loops made on your computer. Also a foot-switch so you can toggle between programed loops. contact me individually and we can negotiate I'm wanting about $350-400 for it, cost >$800 brand new and it's still in mostly mint condition. yahoo kieran -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
