Music of Mark So & James Tenney in the desert
FESTIVAL Desert:
took place near Landers, California on an abandoned airfield. Composer Mark So and I performed a selection of compositions by Manfred Werder, as well as readings from Thomas Claburn's "I feel better after I type to you"
This track is a simultaneous performance of James TENNEY's 'For percussion perhaps, or. . .(night) ' and Mark SO's haley's comet, jupiter, the stars, the open field [late summer, 1985]
Don't be alarmed when you imagine you hear shots fired in the background. The airfield was situated in a valley, and on that day local were gathered off to one side, riding 4-wheeled bikes and firing weapons into the desert.
