Amy Yalland
Amy samples sounds with a tape recorder from the different places she encounters. Among other things, roadworks, running taps, buses and voices make an appearance in her music.
Interested in sonic textures, accidental chords and incidental rhythms, she slices up sounds to use for sound pieces. As a situational/intuitive response to the taped samples, the sound pieces layer vocal harmonies and notes from a pitchpipe (an instrument like a harmonica) to create new reverberations.
Luke Wood says "Kinda sounds like Dunedin in the 80's".
